My thesis is entitled "Ex-situ experimentation to assess and understand the response of young fish stages to environmental conditions on spawning grounds". Through the development of an ex-situ exposure methodology, my work aims to study the impact of the quality of the water of interest on the early development of fish. This exposure method involves exposing organisms under controlled conditions directly to a water of interest on a continuous basis. In particular, one of the aims of my thesis is to study the potential impact of water quality on the spawning grounds (breeding grounds) of large shad (Alosa alosa) on the early stages of this species in a context of population decline in the Gironde-Garonne-Dordogne basin.
