The EABX unit (Aquatic ecosystems and global change) is a research unit specializing in aquatic ecology, whose activities focus on characterizing and understanding the responses of continental aquatic biodiversity (rivers, lakes and estuaries) to global changes at different biological, spatial and temporal scales.

EABX is based at two sites in Gironde, near Bordeaux: Cestas-Gazinet and Saint-Seurin-sur-l'Isle.

EABX comprises some 40 permanent researchers, engineers and technicians, as well as PhD students, post-docs, interns and other contract staff.
