Sturgeon Week

Sturgeon Week

"Sturgeon week" will take place from September 2 to 6 at the INRAE Cestas-Gazinet site.

Several organisations have joined forces to organise a "sturgeon week" from 2 to 6 September at the INRAE site in Cestas-Gazinet, to bring together researchers, managers and NGOs to discuss sturgeon conservation. Members of the IUCN's sturgeon specialist group will be presenting changes in the status of sturgeon populations over the last 30 years by major region worldwide. The International Sturgeon Conservation Society (WSCS) will be holding its General Assembly. A workshop will be held to discuss sturgeon bycatches, what they represent and possible measures to restrict them or at least limit their impact. Finally, a visit to the INRAE experimental station at St Seurin sur l'Isle will provide an insight into the French captive stock and current research.
