I have been assigned for two years to the European LIFE project ADAPTO+, which aims to promote flexible shoreline management to adapt coastlines to the effects of climate change, while preserving biodiversity and ecosystem services. My work will first involve a systematic review of nature-based solutions for protecting and restoring coastal environments. Secondly, we will improve the LITTOREX platform, making it more ergonomic and accessible to local operators, to facilitate the pooling of feedback. We will also contribute to the development of the Ecological Quality Index (EQI), to make it more generalizable to all coastal environments. Finally, we will produce evolution scenarios that will enable us to estimate the advantages and disadvantages of nature-based solutions for estuary case studies. This work will provide essential scientific information to support the transition towards more resilient and sustainable coasts.
