As fisheries engineer, I'm currently a doctoral student in the EABX unit. My thesis focuses on the functional ecology of the European eel Anguilla anguilla, an amphihalin migratory fish. Part of my research focuses on the influence of the environment on the population dynamics of the European eel. For example, I'm interested in the relationship between the species' abundance and environmental variables (e.g. temperature, primary production, marine circulation indices...) over time. My work also focuses on the development of a life cycle model for the European eel, with the aim of distinguishing the effects of anthropogenic and environmental factors, and identifying potential spatial synchronies. I use modeling as a tool for understanding and answering the ecological questions I ask myself.
