My work focus on the development and implementation of metabolomic approaches in aquatic systems in the context of the global change.
Overall, my research aims (i) to better understand the molecular and biochemical mechanisms involved in the acclimation, adaptation and tolerance of aquatic microbial communities to environmental stressors, especially the chemical stress (EC2CO-DEQRIPT, ANR MEMENTO, INRAE-MICROBIOMIQ), and (ii) to identify exposure and effect biomarkers for the monitoring of aquatic ecosystems (ANSES-COMBO). By using metabolomics approach, I also contribute to characterize allelopathic (e.g. macrophyte-cyanobacteria interaction, EXOBIO) and cross-feeding (e.g. cyanobacteria-heterotrophic bacteria interaction, INRAE-COMIC).

To support and promote this research at the French national level, I’m co-animating with Cyril Jousse a scientific network dedicated to metabolomics of environmental microbial ecosystems (ECOMET). I am also affiliated with the Bordeaux Metabolome platform and the French national infrastructure for metabolomics and fluxomics (METAHUB), where I contribute to the development of methods and tools in metabolomics for studying microbial communities across the fields of environment, plant, biotechnology, and human health in the One-health.
