My thesis focuses on the genetic and taxonomic diversity of isoetid communities, a group of small macrophytes found on the shores of Aquitaine coastal shallow lakes.
Working between the EABX and BIOGECO units, one of my main goals is to provide new genetic information on the nine species selected for this project using the microsatellite sequencing method, an innovative, cheap and fast technique. This data will allow us to compare populations at several organizational (populations/communities) and spatial scales (within lakes/between lakes). The final goal of the thesis is to examine the correlation between this genetic data and specific data (number of species present at the stations) in order to understand the dynamics of isoetid communities.
