I am interested in relating the environmental conditions experienced by organisms to their ecological interactions. I am interested in the effects of chemical factors (i.e., the stoichiometry of chemical elements) and of the physical factors of the environment (viscosity, density, turbulence, light) on the dynamics of ecological systems. In terms of environments and organisms studied, I investigate, among other things, the effects of physical obstacles in waterways on the migration of diadromous fishes, the response of phytoplankton to turbulence, the relationship between prey-and-predator sizes, and the impacts of the stoichiometric composition of primary producers on their consumers.
