My research focuses on the structure and functioning of fish communities, mainly in estuaries but also in associated socio-ecosystems (highly anthropised urban environments, exploited or restored marshes). I combine field, laboratory, experimental and data analysis approaches to understand the response of these communities to man-made pressures. For a number of years I have also been interested in the restoration of intertidal habitats in estuaries, with a focus on the expected and observed benefits of the depoldering of certain estuarine marshes in terms of the trophic functionality of these habitats for fish.
